GORDON'S Gordon's Takeaway, Sunderland St, Macclesfield There had been a hot food emporium on this site since the Middle Ages. Initially Gordon sold turnips, but his business flourished with the arrival of Gravy in 1346, and Chips in 1606. Sadly, the discovery of rodent fur in a cod fillet in 1992 spelled the end.
