THE BLUB INTERVIEW

Interview by Liquid Goblin 11/11/98.

Blub was one of the really hard roadies. He was surprisingly unevasive and was chuffed to do this interview.

How did you get involved with the Lads?

I got asked to film Eddo. Bach got dragged off stage and stamped on and I had to go in and fight with Mancs.

How long did you work for them?

When me parole officer would let me go.

Why did you used to "flounder" Al O'Peesha?

Why not? He was an obnoxious little shit who deserved to be jumped on. When things on stage got really bad he would stand there smiling and smoking a fag.

 
   
Was Stez Styx was a cunt?
 He was. He sacked me. He WAS a cunt and as he still is.
What's the most violent concert?
 Marquee. Booked for 2 nights, the place was wrecked after one. General fucking mayhem and bedlam. Three people jumped on me and dragged me off the stage. The fans were ripping the spotlights off the walls and throwing them on stage. I lacerated my hands, stage invasion, the fucking lot.
What's the most disgusting thing you've ever seen thrown on stage?
 Sandbach

You pulled a bloke out of the audience by his hair

 I didn't pull him out - once you've get one inch of traction on someone's hair they tend to jump! He was trying to climb up the PA stack which would've fallen on the audience.
Are you really a fat bastard?
 Yeah! But evil. In between "fat" and "bastard".
What do you do now?
 Toilet cleaning for George Michael.
If the Lads toured again would you roadie?
 If they asked me. When they toured Germany, Muttley wanted us all to go in the van, but the others wanted to go by plane.

Have you got a story about any of the gigs?

 The gay mag at Hull. They were trying to convince Bach up that Al O'Peesha was gay and fancied him. They put a hard-core gay mag in Al's bag and Bach was sent to get it. He came back a little shocked. He showed Stez in front of everyone. Al was "outed" and a "fight" started. Al threatend to scratch Stez's eyes out, and pinch him dead hard on the arm.
Did you ever take part in anything inflicted on Sandbach?

Left him behind God know's how many times, doctored his food, and kicked him for being a fat, useless bag of toss.
 
Is there any Macc Lads song you like?
 All of them, but "Barrel's Round" in particular.
